You can learn more about the ceremonial etiquette; learn how to create a wedding budget manager with a Google spreadsheet; or see how a proper wedding timeline looks like. These are all well-fleshed out advices written by Appy Couple’s experts, and they even present a large catalogue of registry gifts you can mark on Pinterest. The only actual usable “tool” is a downloadable checklist containing all the important steps for the couple before the ceremony.
Mobile & Apps
Appy Couple deserves a round of applause for their dedication towards smartphone users. One of their main selling points is the ability to create a downloadable mobile app for your guests. The process is simple: in the editor you are able to check out how your website will look like on smaller screens, and after you’re finished setting up your wedding site, you can submit your work so people can download it for their iOS and Android phones. Doing so is much more convenient for them, since they can avoid laboring with the browser. There are also features exclusive to the apps, like the secret puzzle game or the advanced photo streaming. However, we also found some flaws in Appy Couple’s smartphone support. It’s a bit clunky to navigate on their mobile-friendly website, and most importantly your editing and management options are limited when using a phone.
Setup
Getting started with Appy Couple is a walk in the park. Quite literally, as they give you a small tour in the amazing design gallery before letting you enter your account details. Luckily your credit card number isn’t required to finish the profile creation, but interestingly both yours and your fiancé’s email address is needed. After you’re done setting up your account, Appy Couple gently guides you through the to-dos. They sorted the necessary steps into three groups, so nothing will be left out. As for the editing process, switching through menus is smooth and you find helpful hints and tips everywhere. Handling the options is quite innovative, and you immediately see the changes displayed on the left. The available pages for your website are restricted, but the setout presents 10 different pages (including the registry, RSVP, travel and entertainment), so you have everything you need.
Designs
Appy Couple has really outdone itself in the design department. You find an astonishingly large gallery, counting over 500 unique designs, created by professional artists. The company made sure that the themes aren’t just the same iteration with different colors: the available designs feel genuinely diverse. Even better, you get the chance to search the gallery by keywords or colors. There are also style groups that make the browsing even more convenient. The system divides its content into two categories: boutique and luxury. These obviously mirror the two premium payment types. With the more expensive plan you unlock better and flashier designs. Those with the Luxury account can even use limited-time and special event designs. Still, Appy Couple deserves a pat on the back for also putting some great artwork in the boutique group.
Pricing
Unlike other wedding site providers, who do their best to chain you to their service with month-to-month or annual commitments, Appy Couple generously steps through this practice, and instead presents its plans for a simple one-time fee. After purchasing your preferred package you’ll become the owner of your own website, with the ability to keep it active as long as you wish. There are two premium plans available, called Boutique Collection and Luxury Collection. The former costs you an easy payment of $39, while the latter charges you for $89.
Luckily the core features aren’t restricted in any way, and upgrading is more of an extension of the design palette. While the Boutique themes are diverse enough, you only get to use the limited-time exclusive theme templates with the Luxury Collection. If you don’t feel like paying upfront and just want to give a go to the building tool, that’s still okay, as you can use your free – but restricted – account for this purpose.
Customer Support
Appy Couple proudly stands its stance if it needs to support users. Every page and feature of the editing tool is backed up by a link showing the relevant helpdesk information. The system also provides reasonable advices for you. The FAQ covers all important aspects of the service, and it focuses on actual troubleshooting instead of promoting its features. For your added comfort, it’s also possible to search for an answer via keywords. Contacting the customer center is possible through mails, and they tend to drag on answering your requests. However, their Facebook page doubles as a contact page where you can reach for help as well.
Bottom Line
Our introduction to Appy Couple’s services was more than pleasant. The company made sure to pack in as many features as possible. First of all, you are able to create smartphone apps, which is a huge positivity. The guest management has lots of options; the editing tool is available in multiple languages; you are free to create huge photo streams or video shows; and there are also some creative additions like the slider puzzle that would make your guests smile. Handling the editing tool feels natural and guided by countless advices and hints. There is a huge pool of truly decorative designs, counting more than 500 themes divided into two groups. The customer support may not be as reactive as we wanted it to be, but they compensate this with clear instructions and guides, helping them maintain their budget-sparing pricing policy with only find one-time fees. Was enjoying apply couple but they have a strange feature that I feel needs highlighting as a warning. I’m sure anyone planning a wedding knows that you have certain venue constraints, so we had an a list and b list in terms of priority (it’s also easy to keep my fiancé and I’s emails in the same place) . Great so far.
You can then manually send out the invite to who you want to invite. Great, we did this.
They also have an rsvp function which reminds guests to rsvp. Also fantastic until you realise this goes out to EVERYONE you have written down on the guest list, even if you didn’t send them an initial invitation.
Now we have people RSVP’ing even though they never received an initial invite and we are over-capacity and cost. Pretty shitty customer service too saying this was basically my fault and I should remove everyone’s email if I didn’t want this.
I’m sorry but if you can manually manage a guest list and send out invites to specific people, it makes no sense RSVP’s would go out to people that didn’t receive an invite. Their emails also get sucked up in spam filters but I think that’s to be expected.

I hope this doesn’t find you too late, but I wouldn’t go with appy couple. It is riddled with issues.
Short version: tech support replies quickly but doesn’t resolve issues and appy cards are horrible to send out and the email options aren’t customizable and are ugly. Appy couple is specifically not designed for large weddings or weddings with multiple events with different guest lists (which is ironic because they sell it on the platform that it handles multiple events).
Long Version: The customer support always replies to your questions but never actually answers the question. If its simple things like you can’t find a button they are very timely and helpful in answering but if you have a more technical problem they never answer! I had major issues with the private events option where theoretically you can add all your events i.e. bridal party with different guest lists and use the toggles to include people into the private events. These toggles kept resetting spontaneously and never worked! I asked for help multiple times and never got a solution. In the end I had to delete all the events that were for selected guests and now I can only have the events the ALL guests are invited to. Also when I was signing up for appy couple they sold me on how easy it is to use appy cards and send out emails- what they fail to tell you is the emails are not customizable at all and the appy cards can only be shared via social media or a link that you copy and paste which looks really shoddy if you are trying to send out save the date (no one wants to get a weird email with a link on it). In retrospect I would have used paperless post to send everything out via email and use minted or riley & grey for the website. Using appy couple and its technical issues have been a nightmare.
